I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Capital Area Veterinary Specialists. My dog's PRP procedure has now been canceled twice, and both cancellations were due to issues that were completely within the clinic's control. To make matters even more frustrating, we had appointments scheduled at both the Baton Rouge and Metairie clinics to ensure my dog could receive the treatment he needs. Despite our efforts to be flexible and accommodate the scheduling, the procedure was still canceled twice. The first appointment was canceled after we had already driven to the clinic because we were told the PRP injection that had been set aside for my dog's procedure had been used on another patient. Now, the procedure has been canceled a second time because the necessary supplies were not available. This has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. We chose PRP injections because we wanted to avoid surgery if possible, but every delay increases the risk that my dog's condition could worsen or that he could injure himself further while waiting for treatment. Beyond the inconvenience of rearranging our schedules, coordinating appointments at two different clinics, and making unnecessary trips, the lack of communication and preparation has caused unnecessary stress for both my family and my dog. I expected much better planning and organization from a specialty veterinary clinic. I hope this matter is taken seriously and that steps are put in place to prevent other pet owners from experiencing the same situation. I would also appreciate an explanation of how this happened twice and what the clinic intends to do to ensure my dog receives the care he needs without any further delays.

My cat Marvin was referred to CAVS for persistent ear infections caused by polyps. Dr. Cradic performed a TECA removing Marvin's entire ear canal 5 days ago. Marvin is perfect with no side effects from the surgery. The staff and Dr. Cradic went above and beyond. We were so nervous through this entire process and they made us feel comfortable leaving our boy in their hands.

We were referred to CAVS From our vet in Alexandria, Louisiana, For a hip replacement or hip injections, we got there. The doctor came in after about 45 minutes of us being there. We started asking about the hip replacement procedure and he cut this off and says he doesn’t do hip replacements Then I asked him if he does Hip injections and he says yes they do, I said well, I would like to get him a hip injection at least for now to ease His pain he then told me that you have to be PRECISE to do a hip injection, And said if we wanted a hip injection or a hip replacement, we should go to Houston didn’t even tell us where He asked other information about my dog I told him that the last blood test he took his Liver enzymes were elevated and he said he could do a quick blood test and let me know how it’s going I said OK. he came back told us everything looked good and then told us we should put him in physical therapy, We get up to leave and I ask About my dog and they said just go pay your bill real quick and we’ll have them out in a second, Which sounded weird to me, There was a lady in front of us that was complaining about her bill So it took about 10 minutes and they wouldn’t bring her dog to her until she paid the bill and they did the same exact thing with me. I was charged $678.45. The quick blood test that is normally anywhere from $29-$100 cost me $319 For him to tell me that he couldn’t do anything for me cost me $250 I got two medications from him also that I could’ve got from my vet for cheap I wouldn’t recommend this place It’s partially my vets fault for sending me there and not knowing that he doesn’t do hip replacements, but I called and they said that they do Hip injections And that was a lie from CAVS
