Dr. Fralick has been our veterinarian for well over 30 years. What first drew us to her was that she made appointments instead of having you wait with a room full of sick and/or scared dogs. She truly cares for each pet and gives you practical advice. She has come to our house to take care of a sick dog or help us to let go of our dying babies in their own environment. Furthermore, I respect her when she calls LSU Vet school or other experts to make sure that she is on top of the latest treatment for an unusual problem. Most Drs have an ego that outweighs the best care that’s available. We know that we can fully rely on her .
ESTABLISHED CUST: I’ve a dog w a lump on his shoulder.I hope it's just fatty tissue, but I’d like a professional opinion.You’d think I was asking for an appt w the president.Day 1:spoke w Rhonda & explained I need a late afternoon appt but I understood it may take a while to get in (specifically asked what is the latest appt time your practice offers).She hemmed & hawed & asked if I wanted them to do everything at 1 appt. Umm...yes?What everything?She said she wasn't sure if they’d need to run tests/do a biopsy or something.I said I’d prefer to do it all at once, since I don't live nearby & will have to leave work, go home, get my dog, then drive out to the office.She said Trish needed to make my appt bc she couldn't (Didn’t say why).Day 2:got a text saying Trish was avail for me to call her b4 9:30/after 2.I wasn’t able to call that day.Day 3: I texted asking for Trish's availability & was told she doesn't work on Weds & she'd be back Thurs.Day 4:called & asked for Trish.Rhonda said she was in an exam room & asked if she could help me.I explained who I was & that I was calling back as instructed to talk to Trish abt making an appt. Spent the next 10 min on the phone w/the person who originally told me she couldn't help me, re-explaining everything & wasting my time.She said if the doctor needs to do a biopsy, it would need to be a morning appt & that it couldn't be at the same appt as the initial exam (so then why couldn't the initial exam be an afternoon appt? No answer to that.).I asked how much a biopsy costs if needed, bc I can't afford a big vet bill right now.She said more than $400. I said I'm not able to afford that, so can the vet just examine him & give me her professional eval of him based on her experience as a vet? See him in person & see if it's likely a fatty deposit, based on where it is, or if I need to plan on a bigger expense? She said maybe the vet would just do bloodwork.I asked how much that is & she said over $200.I said AGAIN I can't afford that kind of expense right now.She said if I wanted just a physical exam, that's ~ $70. I said ok, I’d like to start there.Can u please let me know when u could find us an appt at 3pm? She said well can u come today? I hesitated bc I had plans, but thought maybe I could.Then she said let me see when else I might be able to find u a late appt. Then she wanted to see if Trish was available & came back & said Trish is still in an exam room & theyd need to figure out when to schedule us & call me back.Later got a text: "we do not have any late appts available for what u are needing done & the time frame u need it.If your schedule will allow u to come in the morning, we will be glad to see your pet." Wait, so I could have gone that day @ 3 pm, but never @ any other afternoon appt?? I called & got Rhonda again.She kept saying she's just the receptionist.If you're just the receptionist & can't schedule people, why aren’t u giving calls to someone who can? I asked abt the text & said I don't understand-I asked u what was the latest appt u offer, & I had already told u what the situation was, & u said 3pm.If u can’t take a plain physical exam appt at 3 pm, why didn’t u say so? & why didn’t u offer a different time? Bc now it really seems like u just don’t want us as clients bc I’ve told u I’m not able to spend $200-600.Seems the problem isn’t that I have time constraints, but that u know you’re not going to be making lots of money off us. U said u only take pets in the morning for this kind of appt.What kind of appt do u take in the afternoon, if a standard exam requires u to have all day w an animal?Rhonda said I told her Day 1 that it was going to be a difficult appt.WHAT?Why would I have said that & how would I have any idea whether it was going to be a difficult appt?What I DID say was that I knew it might take a while to get a late appt bc most ppl want those.For her to twist that into me saying it’d be a difficult appt is very concerning.At this point it seems like all of the rest is a smokescreen & the real issue is they knew I wasn’t coming in w a bankroll.
Dr. Kim is the most attentive vet I have ever met. She took her time with my doggie, listened to my concerns and took her time to make sure my doggies needs were met. This clinic is very small town and I love it. I’m glad I came here and they have my pets for life!
